Sunrise Plus

What is Sunrise Plus and who is it helping?

Why?

As Sunrise has grown, we have built a strong foundation of young players. But developing a player is about much more than the hours they spend on court.

Parents play an important role in that journey, yet it can be difficult to know what the right support looks like.

Which tournaments should my child enter? How much should they train? What can they do outside their sessions? How important are nutrition, recovery and rest? What changes as they become more competitive? What does the pathway ahead actually look like?

Without clear guidance, parents are often left trying to work these things out for themselves.

Sunrise Plus exists to close this gap.

Our aim is to help parents move from being bystanders to partners in their child’s badminton development, with a better understanding of the journey and how they can positively support it.

How?

Sunrise Plus provides parents with structured, practical guidance throughout the year, rather than leaving them to search for information when a question or problem appears.

Members will have access to a growing knowledge hub covering areas such as training, competition, tournament planning, nutrition, mental preparation, recovery and injury prevention.

At least twice each month, we will publish exclusive educational content, supported by a monthly parent Q&A where families can ask questions relevant to their child’s development.

Parents will also receive a Competition Season Planning Guide, including tournament information and participation guidance for Warrington and the surrounding area, helping families make better-informed decisions about when and where their child should compete.

Monthly training guidance will provide simple ideas that can complement the player’s existing training plan.

Sunrise Plus will also occasionally include educational sessions specifically for the players themselves, helping young players gradually understand topics such as athlete nutrition, rest and recovery, preparation, and what it really means to live and train like an athlete.

What?

Sunrise Plus is an annual support membership for Sunrise families.

It sits between our standard group training and the more individualised support provided through the Mentor Program.

It is particularly designed for parents who are actively involved in their child’s badminton and want to better understand how to support their development, from club-level badminton through to the Badminton England Junior Pathway.

Membership includes:

  • Sunrise Plus Knowledge Hub
  • At least two exclusive educational articles each month
  • Monthly parent Q&A
  • Competition Season Planning Guide
  • Monthly training guidance
  • Occasional player education sessions
  • Priority registration for Sunrise camps and other selected activities
  • 10% discount on Sunrise clothing and selected Sunrise products

Sunrise Plus does not replace coaching. It connects what happens on court with what happens around it.

The goal is to give parents greater clarity, players better support, and families a clearer understanding of the journey ahead.
