Meet the team

We are a small team of professionals interested in badminton with a wide range of skills and experience. We love what we do and we do it with passion.

Frank – Ferenc Szekely

Head coach of the network

I`m a qualified and registered UKCC Level 2 Coach in Badminton with more than 21 years of experience competing in the central European region and in the UK. I live in Lymm, Statham with my 2 daughters and wife. I have started the sport quite lately, at the age of 14. We won the National School Competition`s Capital city selection and the Country final in doubles discipline at the age of 17. I`ve got many years to play in a University club and became an international player for a short period of time. I have retired in 2006 as I could not perform most of my knowledge. I have discovered the importance of mindset and continuously updating my coaching style to emphasize the importance of mental health in sports. Here are my up to date qualifications:

  • UKCC L2 Badminton Coach
  • CIMSPA – ReActivate Sport Clubs Safely
  • L5 Sports and Exercise Nutritional Adviser
  • UK Coaching – Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
  • UK Coaching – Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity – In progress
  • BWF Online Shuttle Time Component
  • More…

Richard Cook

I’m currently a qualified teacher, with a postgraduate degree in Early Years Studies and a Masters in Physical Education. My sporting background actually comes from field hockey, where I am a level 2 qualified coach. I also hold a Mental Health in Sport coaching certificate. I have coached various levels of athletes in hockey, from beginners to England international juniors. I am relatively new to badminton; playing socially and friendly for two years and recently playing club badminton in Warrington. I love most sports but badminton has really captured my passion due to its speed, intensity and beauty. I am enthusiastic about coaching sports as I believe they are key to children’s development; instilling values, nurturing skill, and improving physical and mental health. I’m working towards achieving my UKCC coaching badges this year, and excited to learn more about the sport and be a part of this team.
